Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do I need my own horse?
Not right away. You can start learning with just a rope and a dummy. Having a horse helps once you’re ready to rope live, but it’s not required to begin.

  • What equipment do I need?
To get started, all you really need is a rope and access to a dummy. As you improve, adding a saddle, horse, and steers will help you take the next step.

  • Is this too advanced if I’m brand new?
No. The course is built for beginners as well as ropers who already have some experience. Each lesson builds step by step so you don’t get overwhelmed.

  • How is this different from YouTube videos?
YouTube is random—this course is organized with a clear path from the basics to advanced techniques, making it easy to follow without guessing what to learn next.

  • How long until I can compete?
That depends on your practice and consistency. Some students are jackpot-ready in a few weeks, while others take more time. The course gives you the tools to progress faster and avoid common mistakes.

Team roping has always been a part of my life. I was fortunate to learn the sport from my dad, who has over 45 years of experience as a standout heeler in college and is highly respected in the roping community. His example taught me not only the techniques of roping, but also the importance of patience, discipline, and respect for the sport.

Over the years, I’ve put those lessons into practice—facing challenges, learning from mistakes, and steadily building the skills that make a consistent, confident roper.

My goal with this course isn’t to impress you with flashy talk or impossible promises. Instead, I’m here to pass down the same proven fundamentals that have shaped my own roping journey, so you can avoid years of frustration and start seeing real progress sooner.

I’m confident in what I teach because I’ve lived it—but I stay humble because I know every roper is always learning, myself included. If you’re ready to put in the work, I’ll be right alongside you, helping you grow step by step.
